Met with cheers from the crowd not unlike the type found at The Posh’s ground, the club’s Director of Football, Barry Fry, proudly opened Craegmoor’s new Alpine Lodge care service on Wednesday 1st July – a development of three apartments set in the beautiful grounds of the existing Conquest House Care Home that will provide luxury accommodation and tailor-made support for people with learning disabilities and associated mental illnesses.

Craegmoor – the leading national provider of care and support services to people with learning disabilities, mental illnesses and older people – invited local people to a tea party at Conquest House in aid of Marie Curie, with a variety of fun activities including a barbeque, raffle, bouncy castle and auction, raising more than £120 for the charity.

Jackie Gilboy, Manager of Conquest House Care Home, said today:

First of all, I want to say how grateful we are to Barry Fry, his wife and everyone at Peterborough United for their support and time. It was a really special day for everyone that attended and I hope that the facilities provided at Alpine Lodge will bring further joy and independence to the lives of the people who will live there.

Barry Fry, Peterborough United’s Director of Football, said today:

It was a real honour to be able to open Alpine Lodge and take part in the tea party at Craegmoor’s Conquest House. Everyone had a great time and I couldn’t get over how hard all of the staff work and the commitment and compassion that they show every day.
