Independent Hospitals

Enabling Independence

Craegmoor Healthcare operates 16 hospitals and community homes, providing high quality rehabilitative care, treatment and support to adults who are or who have been detained under the mental health act.

A person centred approach enables individuals to progress through a care pathway from medium and low secure hospitals to community based settings, according to individual needs and based on full risk assessments.

A Multi-Disciplinary Approach

The multi-disciplinary team focuses on a person centred approach to rehabilitative care, balancing public protection and individual needs. As well as a fully qualified nursing staff, the team comprises consultant psychiatrists, forensic and clinical psychologists and psychology assistants, occupational therapists, education and vocational services co-ordinators, physiotherapy, social workers and art and music therapists.

The core aim is to provide tailored therapeutic care and support which enables each individual to progress through a care pathway, whilst fulfilling their maximum potential.
