Mind announces journalist of the year

 Mind, the national association for mental health in the UK, has named Mary O'Hara as its journalist of the year. It praised Ms O'Hara for her excellent coverage of mental health issues and paid tribute to her "clean and cool analysis of emotive issues", reports the Guardian.The judges at the annual awards praised her "tenacity in standing up for people with mental heath problems".Ms O'Hara is a writer for the Society Guardian and also presented its one-off mental health podcast in February.Cecilia de Felice, clinical psychologist and journalist, presented the award and said that Ms O'Hara had "taken coverage of mental health issues to a wonderful level".In other news, Mind recently published a report that shows that debt is a significant factor in worsening people's mental health.The In the Red: Debt and Mental Health report surveyed over 1,800 people and found that 91 per cent of respondents said that debt has affected their mental health. © Adfero Ltd
