Care home to create 50 jobs

 Mid Suffolk district councillors have given the green light for a proposed specialist care home to be built in the region, creating an estimated 50 jobs, it has been reported. The new residential development will cost more than £1 million and will provide care for people suffering from Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, according to the Evening Star.Councillors voted for the new care home despite opposition from local residents who claimed it would cause increased congestion on the roads and other locations were better suited, the paper states.Tim Passmore, Conservative leader of mid Suffolk district council, told the news provider: "I am delighted that this has been approved."It is just the sort of facility that we are in desperate need of within mid Suffolk," he added.According to the Alzheimer's Research Trust, more than 39,400 people are diagnosed with the condition each year in England and Wales.
