The ordinary story of Frankie’s amazing pet

Frankie Walsh had always wanted a pet so when he moved to Caerlan he asked if he could get one. To Frankie’s amazement, the answer was ‘yes’ – as long as he found out how to look after the rabbit and knew the time commitment required.

With the support and encouragement of staff, Frankie found out everything there was to know about rabbits: what they eat, how to pick them up and hold them and what they like and do not like.

On the day the hutch arrived, Frankie was concerned that it had been placed in direct sunlight and he knew the rabbit would not like it. With his new found confidence and enthusiasm, Frankie immediately asked for the hutch to be moved - something he would never have done in the past.

Since having his own pet and taking on the responsibility required Frankie has really come out of his shell. His concentration levels have continued to increase along with his self-esteem and passion for life. He has never been happier and loves life at Caerlan.
