Lindeth College offers courses of 38 to 52 weeks per year for young people with learning disabilities as well as challenging behaviour and/or complex needs.
Overview of service
Learning opportunities are provided around 'Preparation for Living and Work' and include the following areas:
- Personal and social development
- Pathways to independence
- Pathways to employment
- Functional skills – communication, literacy, and numeracy
Each individual is supported to reach their potential and achieve their learning goals.
The college provides a range of facilities for 46 residential students and there are also opportunities for day courses.
The college provides education courses for up to a 3 year period but also offers shorter courses if appropriate.
What it's like to live here
Students return home on average twice during term time at weekends in addition to school holidays to ensure links in the home area are maintained.
Surroundings
The college is situated in the beautiful Lake District National Park with seven acres of grounds and near to the shores of Lake Windermere.
Service facilities
Accommodation is on one rural campus and comprises a large house residing 14 learners, 6 purpose built cottages with varying levels of staff support according to learner need, an administration block and dedicated teaching space that is appropriately allocated to support the delivery of the vocational and non vocational curriculum.
