Overview of service

People living at Caerlan often have a learning disability as well as mental health problems and may communicate through challenging behaviour. Caerlan staff support the individuals living at Caerlan to find alternative ways of communicating their needs and anxieties.

Caerlan focuses on an individual’s recovery, building self esteem, & confidence, their abilities and skills; this is carried out at the individuals pace without pressure, validating & celebrating their successes. Walking alongside them whilst they learn how to acclimatise themselves into re-entering into society. Providing support to move onto group homes or back to the area form where they have come from

Person centred planning is at the centre of our philosophy and we make sure that individuals are fully involved in setting goals for what they want to achieve.

Everyone living at Caerlan has an individual plan of activities for their individual needs to help them progress and live more independently which Occupational Therapy helps them develop.
