Arthur House care home provides quality care based on respect for the residents, their right to make choices, maintain dignity and receive the best of care to suit individual needs.We offer 24-hour care for 15 elderly residents. The home is situated in Wimbledon Park with easy access to local shops and amenities.

The Home

Arthur House was originally a private residence which has been developed and extended into a care home which provides residential care for older residents within warm and homely environment.The home has been tastefully decorated throughout with individual décor in each bedroom to meet the requirements and needs of each resident. There are 10 bedrooms accommodating up to 15 residents. The home has a light and airy lounge which leads via patio doors out into a small secluded tranquil garden, which offers a relaxing atmosphere and a quiet retreat. Our aim is to achieve a comfortable, warm and safe environment providing a feeling of security and enhancing quality of life.

The Care

The care at Arthur House is delivered by a dedicated and professional team, committed to providing quality care. The staff are highly qualified and motivated enabling them to meet the needs of the residents. Each resident has an individual care plan, reflecting their personal needs and choices. A key worker is assigned to each resident ensuring a holistic approach to individual care and daily fulfilment. Each member of staff is trained to ensure that our residents’ personal dignity is maintained at all times. Resident choice is paramount and they are actively encouraged to make informed choices and maintain independence. We encourage residents and families to actively participate in the planning of care, which is continually monitored. GP’s, district nurses, physiotherapist and occupational therapists are available to give support as required.

The Facilities

We have specialised equipment to aid with day-to-day living, including handling and bathing equipment. Residents are welcome to bring in personal items and small pieces of furniture to personalise their room.We also offer the services of a hairdresser, chiropodist and optician. Our in-house chef ensures a choice of menus creating fresh, nutritious, homemade meals catering for all cultural, medical diets and personal preferences. We have a planned activities programme. Outside entertainers visit the home on regular basis.Activities are planned to meet the residents’ needs but we also respect a person’s need for peace and quiet and choice on how they spend their day.
