Your Voice is an exciting new initiative happening within every service in Craegmoor. The scheme’s founding principles are very simple; in order to improve the service and the support we deliver we ensure that we gain everyone’s views and that we are providing what people want from the service they receive.
This means we listen, involve and are influenced by service users.
By asking every person what they want, what makes them happy and what they do and don’t like about the services they use and by listening to their views and then acting on their opinions, we can be confident that we are meeting peoples’ needs.
The critical part of this initiative is providing the opportunity for people to communicate in the manner in which they are most comfortable and fluent. For this reason, we have developed a communication strategy with the intention that every service user will be confident and willing to express their opinions through at least one of these communication channels.
Having established how our service users would prefer to communicate with us, we will ask their opinion, listen to their responses and act accordingly – no one can guide and influence us better than the individuals who live in or use our services.
This short video shows how the scheme is being implemented in one unit, in particular.
